Whisperingdove Creations

Hi!  My name is Vickie Nelligan and Whisperingdove is a family affair!  My wonderful son Chase and I love to create beautiful and unique hand painted glass ornaments, Nancy my mom creates the ornament holders and my husband, Ray, crafts amazing heirloom quality cases from oak wood to house our creations.  We love working together to make special ornaments for our clients to begin their own family traditions, generation to generation.  But in our family there’s a special story attached to Chases' part in Whisperingdove.

His story goes back to infancy when he had to undergo surgery to repair his cranium to allow his brain to develop properly.  Despite the doctors also finding Chase had a hole in his heart, the surgery had to proceed. That surgery was on a St. Patrick’s Day and the outcome was very positive so Chase had the luck of the Irish with him!  As Chase grew from baby to little boy, he was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit hyperactivity Disorder) with the resulting restlessness, short attention span and focus difficulty.  One day some years later when I sitting at my arts & crafts table decorating ornaments to give to family and friends for Christmas, Chase came over and sat down and began to help me decorate ornaments and our collaboration began! 

Chases' ornaments are beautiful – he seems to choose just the right colors and makes the most wonderful combinations.  Plus he sits still, full of focus and concentration, for one or two hours to make these creations! We have been creating ornaments together for more than two years now, and I can tell you the ornaments are just as beautiful and unique today as the first day we began. 

Each box of 6 or 12 Whisperingdove ornaments has one labeled ornament designed by Chase.  I know you will appreciate the special beauty of this ornament in your box as much as we do.
